Game's The Documentary should be filed under Tom Breihan's Things We Lost in the Mire: Is Product Placement HipHop? After all, weren't the two cool singles from that album tracks Game didn't rap on? Of course, this is coming from a guy who totally fell for David Banner.
So what do you think of "Hate It Or Love It", Mike (or JT)? It made my top 20.
JT: No, actually. I mean, I'm not really into that album, but I do think "Hate It or Love It" was a very good single. Also, I don't think the appreciations are mutually exclusive; I like David Banner, and I even like the new album, I just thought there were some ugly missteps. Par, I guess. I probably could've held off picking on him, it was mostly because I read a review of Certified, that, with all due respect, made a clumsy attempt to "apologize" for stuff like "Crossroads" by boasting his eclecticism. I mean, silly, right?
It was my #10, actually. I also like the Mary J. Blige remix/cover/whatever.
